But even better than that organization was the froyo itself! They had everyting from dark chocolate, and plain tart, to mango and lychee tart, all of which were amazing. Raspberry tart tasted a little bit like cherry cough syrup, but for the most part it was good.

Price wise, I've heard tartini was kind of expensive, but it wasn't too bad. I think I paid a little under 5 dollars for a big cup packed with strawberries and mango. The menu said 38 cents per ounce though, so be careful how much you serve yourself, or you'll be in for a nasty surprise at the end!

They also serve crepes and smoothies, if you're not in the mood for just yogurt.

<3 peanut butter angeli

Freshie Luncheon

This past Sunday I went to Sanjana Baldwa's house for a "luncheon" as my mom called it. I was expecting it to be pretty boring (no offense to Sanjana) because there wasn't going to be anyone there my age, but I actually had a lot of fun. Between chasing after 4 year olds, looking for prom dresses for me online (and recieving some very good input), and reading FML, I was pretty happy =)

But the best part were these delicious looking chocolate covered strawberries that look almost as amazing as they tasted. One of these days I'm going to make some. They were amazing.
Too bad I didn't take a picture of when the chocolate bits fell off. The pattern of the strawberries outside, complete with indentations for the little seeds, was beautiful...

Or maybe I was just hungry =)

I just realized my camera died...no picture =( but imagine a fatty strawberry with really nice milk chocolate all over it. I had only 30 minutes of homework, and after being oh so meanly rejected from college more than once this week, I decided I deserved to relax a little bit. My mom and I used to make homemade facial masks like the one below a lot when I was in middle school. They're all natural so I feel like it's better for my skin than all of those nasty products we slather on our faces in an effort to change some aspect of our appearance.

Note: This stuff looks almost as revolting as it looks when on your face.
But don't worry, its all in the name of beauty =)
Plus, there's no nasty chemicals in it.

Homemade Facial Mask:

This is possibly the easiest preparation for a facial mask, And you can make out of common household food items! It's awesome and left my skin feeling very soft and smooth.
This mask uses honey, yogurt, and ground oatmeal. The proportions are different every time I make it, but in the end you want a consistency that isn't too watery but not so thick that it'll cement to your face. I add a little honey because I have very dry skin, but I know my mom uses just yogurt and oatmeal since her skin tends to be more oily than mine.
Spread onto face, wait 10-15 minutes, then wash off with a warm washcloth, pat dry, and apply a light moisturizer if you want.
Look at all the wonderful uses of food =)
Enjoy!
<3 peanut butter angeli

gossip girl gourmet: one cup of tea please!

So gossip girl was on FINALLY after four painful weeks yesterday. I, of course, recorded it. But while watching it I needed something to drink so I made myself a...tea!

This is my favorite mug btw. It's from Greece and it says Santorini on the top but it's been stuck in the dishwasher too many times so it's faded a little.
Anyways, I love tea. Indian Chai with some ginger, the classic Early Grey, Jasmine Downey Pearls, and of course coffee. But I'll save coffee for another post.
Today, it was Red Rose.
When brewed to perfection (usually 2-3 minutes in boiling water), it has deep dark brown color. Add milk and sugar to your own discretion. I personally don't like super sweet tea and coffee but i know my best friend beckie loves anything sweet. We went to McDonald's today and had their one dollar sweet tea. It was very yummy. But after a while it would get kinda overwhelming.

Speaking of tea...the speaker at the NHS assembly mentioned Greg Mortensen. Author of three cups of tea. More tea! But honestly, great book, and very inspiring.

So my luvlies, I would recommend sitting down with a nice cup of tea and this book.
<3>

the wonders of chex mix

There has never been a day when I didn't enjoy a bowl of chex mix as my afterschool snack.

Despite the allure of clementine oranges and other healthy items in my kitchen, Chex Mix has been my devoted friend. I'm quite finicky, however. Chex Mix can only be enjoyed if you eat it a particular way.

6) Pretzels!! Most people hate them. I don't, but I'd still rather eat them all first to get rid of them. Not much flavor.

5) Squiggly Bread Things -- I have no idea what any of these pieces are actually called but this is my terminology. Again, not much flavor, which is why I eat them second after pretzels.

4) White Crunchy Things -- It starts getting better around here. Eating these is a great way to annoy your parents/ friends because they crunch super loudly, even with your mouth closed.

3) Brown Chex -- Let's just face it. Brown Chex always come in second to White Chex and Brown Crunchy things. But don't feel too sorry for them. Sometimes they have a lot of flavoring and it makes them taste better.

2) Brown Crunchy Things -- They crunch! They taste amazing!

1) White Chex -- Chex Mix would make so much more money if they just sold these in a bag by themselves. I save them until the very end, because they taste WAY better than everything else in the bag.

Chex Mix also comes in other flavors ranging from the sweet, the salty, and the chocolately. Yum =)

<3 peanut butter angeli

basketball and a burger =)

I'm a big fan of cheeseburgers. But The Counter, located in Santana Row, takes my favorite dinner to a whole other level. This place is AWESOME. You can customize your burger with anything and everything from bell peppers and avocado to bacon and a fried egg. While a dinner for two ended up being almost thirty dollars, a little pricey for my taste, the burger was delicious. But be warned, they're also huge. I order a 1/3 pound patty with avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, onions, lettuce and tomato, and the burger was literally too big for me to bite into. And I only ate about half of it, despite being ravenously hungry. Their onion rings are also really good, crispy and not too oily.

*Warning* Going on a date here is dangerous. ESPN delivers a live feed of whatever sports game is currently playing from a couple flat screens near the front, and boys tend to get extremely distracted by this convenient set up.

So, luvlies, next time you're at Sanatana Row, swing by The Counter and you could have some of this..

<3>

Today I went to Petco in Westgate to buy my dog food, treats, and dental chews. As I was perusing the dog food section, the nauseating smell of "lamb and vegetables," "salmon and fruit," and other equally revolting flavors made me nostalgic for my youth. Sounds kinda strange, I know. But let's go back to 1995, when I was a wee little five year old....

My old dog, Moti, and I shared a very special relationship. We walked around the house togther. We explored the "forest" of five redwood trees in my backyard together. We even explored my neighbors backyard together. He crawled under the fence and jumped in their pool. I followed and almost drowned. Needless to say, my mom signed me up for swim lessons the very next day.

Anyways, one day I was feeding him his favorite dinner, Pedigree dog food. He was thoroughly enjoying it, spilling little pellets all over the place and eating quite heartily. Moti looked like he was enjoying himself, so I figured why not...

Yes, I ate dog food.

I consumed one of those digusting hard little pellets that remarkably resemble deer poop. The rough texture rolled over my toungue in a very uncomfortable manner, it tasted like dirt, and it felt like sand was disintegrating in my mouth. I spat the thing out. It bounced in the general direction of Moti's food bowl and no sooner had it rolled to a stop than he gobbled the thing up. Ew.

So if you're ever curious about dog food, don't be. Be grateful that humans have delicious things like actual chicken and real vegetables (which is what I'm having for dinner thank god).

<3>

that's hot.

So basically...i fooled you all =)

It's a spoonful of chili powder!! Afterwards we got really hungry so I decided to eat something halfway healthy...only to discover the only fruit we had left in the house was frozen. But never fear! We managed to whip up a pretty delicious shake.

Orange Banana Berry Milkshake

Ingredients:
1 Peeled Tangerine

1 handful of frozen raspberries

10 small frozen strawberries

1/2 a frozen banana

1-3 cups of milk

Preparation:

Stuff it all in the blender and press pulverize. If it gets stuck, turn off the blender and poke aroun with a spoon =)
For real though, you don't really need to do anything to prep. That's the genius of this yummy snack. Add more or less milk to make the shake thicker or thinner. I'm not a big fan of tasting banana in my milkshake; when it's frozen you still get all the nutrients of a banana without the taste.

Cook time:

2-5 minutes.

So, my luvlies, eat up, or more accurately, drink up, and enjoy!!

<3 peanut butter angeli

The Trials and Tribulations of Peanut Butter (and Jelly)

Hi. I'm Angeli. Pronounced uhn-jah-lee. Substitute teachers tend to butcher my name quite nicely. My personal favorite is "An-jelly" Thus the name.
Anyways, I'm Angeli Agrawal. I'm 18 years old, and I'm absolutely horrible at cooking. Lately, my mom has stopped making me dinner, and as a result I've had to improvise.
With my dog Lulu by my side, faithfully eating everything I drop on the floor, we invite you to come share in the trials and tribulations of peanut butter and jelly, as I attempt to cook something halfway edible and somewhat delicious.
